_ Cleansing the Body from the Inside Out Does this seem like an odd concept? Well not if you think about how much of our insides we clean on a daily basis:
These are only the parts we have access to. For parts we don’t have access to we have the Excretory System. It cleans our bodies every second of everyday (skin/lungs/kidneys/urinary tract/colon). Now you’re probably wondering, “Why do I need to do more than what nature is currently doing?” The answer: our bodies weren’t designed to handle the amount of toxins that we encounter in our modern lives each day. The need to cleanse our bodies can be compared to house cleaning. Most of us have a weekly cleaning schedule that includes cleaning only the high traffic (high visibility) areas. During Spring cleaning we clean behind the couch, wipe down the cobwebs, finding dust and dirt where no one has even been. Your body has the same need for a deep cleaning cleanse. The human body can only process so many toxins at a time and everyone has their own tolerance level. When a backup occurs and toxins continue to enter, the body protects itself by storing them in fat cells. Negative symptoms begin to manifest and if the root problem is left unaddressed, in time what was once a minor irritation turns into a chronic & degenerative disease. A cleansing diet is one of the best ways to break down the toxic stores and eliminate them from your body. This will result in increased energy, an immune system boost, a shift in unwanted weight, a clearing of skin, a lift of mental fog, and a decrease in the risk of disease & chronic health conditions. If life isn’t as easy as it used to be (little things are starting to slow you down) then you’re probably experiencing a toxic overload. Purpose: To provide your body with a period of intentional rest and repair time in the midst of your (tapered down) life schedule that allows you to maintain an alkaline environment in your bloodstream, along with a retraining of your taste buds. Cleansing on a periodic (recommended quarterly, with the change of the seasons) basis supports the body in eliminating foreign substances such as beauty products, household cleaners, pollutants in air, pesticides, preservatives, food additives, the list is endless. These toxins do accumulate in tissues and interfere with normal cellular function leading to diminished functioning of the immune, glandular and digestive systems. Thereafter if it motivates you to stay with healthy eating then it has done its job. I hope to motivate you to permanently change your diet to a 75% raw food, 25% cooked food regimen. Permanent results only come from you permanently changing your diet & lifestyle. You don’t get permanently well unless you permanently change the way you live. CommentsMelissa 01/22/2012 17:55
Day 8-15. After two years of putting off this cleanse, I finally committed. It has been much easier than anticipated. Gradually moving towards juicing has made the juicing days quite tolerable; I actually enjoy if except for the mild hunger pangs which are easily curbed by a glass of water and allowable liquids. There have been no detox effects and my energy level is normal. Following the Natural Way for the last three years has paid off. The best part for me has been losing the belly bloat, 3.8 lbs of it!, during the first five days.

Day 9-15 Last night craved salt & fat; no cravings or hunger pangs today. I actually think I could the 30 day cleanse now that I know the hunger won't last long. It feels really good to drink juice and for my body to not have to digest like when I drink whole food smoothies. My favorite drink: Gazpacho recipe, strained.

Ok, I don''t know much about blogs and if this is where to leave my comments. Journaling would be what i didn't like about the 15 day cleanse, so I did't do it. But the cleanse itself was marvelous. My husband and I did this together and are committed to 2 raw meals a day for 5 out of 7 days. We have been doing this and we will definitely be doing the cleanse again in July. We were never hungry except on the 4 days of liquids only. Oh yes we are committed to the 8 glasses of water plus each day. Our favorite recipe was the corn chowder. Thanks Jane

It's going well--I have a headache from weaning caffeine and medication, but yesterday I felt great for the most part, and my belly is going down.

Oh! I forgot something. Laura and I went for a walk on the walkway in San Clemente from the stairwell almost to the train station. I took my glasses off for about 30 minutes. I truly believe it helped me sleep better. Laura mentioned that to me this morning. What she has accomplished, the results I'm seeing in her "reshaping" before my very eyes, inspired me to join. I can't wait to see MY reshaped body.
